Almanac Collection 1771-1967 1800-1900

The Almanac collection includes 247 almanacs dating from 1771 through 1967. There are a variety of types of almanacs including agricultural, medical, commercial and general editions. Also included are pioneer guides, political registers, telephone almanacs and German language publications. The almanacs originate from New England, the east coast, and the Midwest, with a few publications from California. The variety of subjects and locales lends a valuable diversity to the collection.

Athena is the Ohio University yearbook. In 1918, a small pamphlet called Senior Scroll was published in lieu of a yearbook. In 1975, the name was changed to Spectrum Green . In 1984, it was changed back to Athena . From the guide to the Collection of Athena yearbooks and records, 1892-2007, (Ohio University) Phi Upsilon Omnicron is a national honor society in Family and Consumer Sciences. At the time these records were created, it was described as "a national home economics ...
